Welcome to our little web ditty on our trip to Oregon during the summer of 2006. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning. Our start was a little bumpy... We were stuck in Chicago due to a thunderstorm the first night we flew. Then due to not understanding how the airlines work, got stuck a second night. We made the best... Visited with a friend, got stuffed pizza for dinner, took the El downtown the following day, had hotdogs for lunch, and got cheese cake for an afternoon treat. But it was kinda disappointing, as that was two days of camping on the west side of Mt. Hood that we lost. Oh well, we were there for Erika's cousin's wedding, and they still live in Hood River, so it's not like we have few reasons to go back :)
I've arranged various galleries, that can be followed by these links:
- Starvation Creek - Columbia River Gorge, just west of Hood River
- Trip up SR 35 from Hood River to the Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood
- On the Pacific Rim Trail just off SR 35 on the way back from the Timberline Lodge
- Tooling around in Mosier, OR, where we stayed at a lovely bed and breakfast
- Back up SR 35 for a look at glacial outwash on the White and Hood Rivers
- Out on the Oregon Coast... Tidal Pools!
- A beach and wetland between our campsite and Kiwanda
- Trip up the Nestucca River that runs from the interior ridge and reaches the ocean at Kiwanda
OR... You can just surf the "highlights" below... but I think the galleries are worth the surf! (esp the ones OF the surf!)
